Just got back from Glee Live. I cried when they started Don’t Stop Believing. I’m such a baby but they’re just thattt cool. You’ll never see an arena with that many outcasts ever again. It was brilliant.
Since X-Men First Class is being released in a lot of countries today (and will soon be released in others) I think that X-Men master post is in order.
The X-Men are a superhero team in the Marvel Comics Universe. They were created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, and first appeared in The X-Men #1 (September 1963). The basic concept of the X-Men is that under a cloud of increasing anti-mutant sentiment, Professor Xavier created a haven at his Westchester mansion to train young mutants to use their powers for the benefit of humanity, and to prove mutants can be heroes.
If there is anything wrong with the links send me a message. If you want to bash or rant about this post DON’T REBLOG (or keep it in your tags). Special thanks to TOM for helping me with the links.

This is the first in a series of masterposts for classic Hollywood actors. They will always be divided by Pre-Code, then 1930s post-Code, and then into the decades following that. Also included will be which works can be found on Netflix Instant Streaming and Hulu, if available.
None of these links are uploaded by me; they’ve just been compiled for the enjoyment of Cary Grant’s work. If there are any broken links, additional links, or alternate links you’d like to share, please message me AQAP. If you have any suggestions on what else you’d like to see in these masterposts or a classic Hollywood actor you’d like to request, drop me a message as well.

Frank Sinatra with Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra: A Primer
In 1940, Frank Sinatra became the lead vocalist for Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra. After his brief stint with the Harry James band, this was Frank’s first real big break. It was also the time when he developed his artistry and his unique style and voice which would go on to be recognized as the best of the 20th century. Frank Sinatra learned his tremendous breath control from bandleader and trombonist Tommy Dorsey, who, as Sinatra said, “..would take a musical phrase and play it all the way through seemingly without breathing for 8, 10, maybe 16 bars…Why couldn’t a singer do that too? I decided to make my voice work in the same way as a trombone or violin…”playing” the voice like those instruments.” The most famous Sinatra-Dorsey song, and possibly the only one you’ve heard, is I’ll Never Smile Again, which stayed at number one for 12 weeks. These recordings, made in the period from 1940-1942, are incredible. They showcase Frank’s voice at one of its high points. He does things with it on these recordings that he would never again be able to do. I highly encourage you to seek out the complete recordings. This is the beginning of Frank Sinatra.
TADA! This was a work in progress a long long long time ago for me to sort my music and a couple of you want me to post this so I fixed it up and yay, here it is! I probably messed a few things up so if something’s wrong just tell me. The title is a download for the whole album or you can pick and chose/download individually.
